Just for fun on a Friday!

I did hunt for Van football but kept getting shoes, or famous dutch footballers, so I’m afraid Car Football will have to suffice!

We would like to take this opportunity to sympathise with Alexander Meerkat, as we at Vansdirect do occasionally get mistaken for the supplier of a branded footwear.

We would like to take this opportunity, as has Mr Meerkat on a number of occasions, to point out the difference.

Home Video Shames Renault Kangoo

Firstly, please remember that Vansdirect is a model workplace.  Not in the airfix sense and, perhaps not in the Management Handbook sense, but it is…. ok, it’s a typical workplace.  The staff at Vansdirect work hard and play hard but not even we have enough time on our hands to be this creative with a van.

If you’re not of a delicate disposition nor a lover of the great rhino, this van video is a must.  The Renault Kangoo is perhaps more robust than you ever imagined - although I don’t think this video is genuine testament to an actual unique selling point.  See the rest of this post to see the video….

Classic Ford TV Commercial

Once again the Vansdirect office has been casting their eyes over the phenomenon that is the You Tube. And once again a gem of a van related video has been found starring the talents of Buster Keaton.  Without researching the video fully, we can only conclude that it’s an advert for Ford’s first medium or long wheel base van - the underpinning of the now famous Ford Transit.  Even if you’re not a fan of the Ford Transit van or Buster Keaton, it’s still worth watching this van video for the sheer delight of watching a lion drive a Ford van!

Citroen Berlingo Van Advert

Simple but effective.  What more do you need to know about the new Citroen Berlingo that this commercial doesn’t deliver?  Vansdirect.co.uk sells loads of these cheap vans - hardly surprising given the features that the Citroen Berlingo comes with as standard.  In fact, the entire Citroen van range comes stacked with features you wouldn’t normally associated with cheap vans for sale in the UK.

Another Ad Break

Transporter S Line -V- Vito X

This should be an obvious question - which of the Volkswagen Transporter S Line or the Mercedes Vito X is the quickest round any track they’re pointed at?  Let’s face it, the Vito X has more torque than an Audi S4!  Unfortunately, these are not cheap vans (circa £28,000) and thus my request to the Vansdirect board to throw them around a track for the day was turned down (hmmph).  However, the good people at Fifth Gear, including the lovely Vicki Butler Henderson, can put this travesty to rights. So sit back and watch two non-cheap vans be driven round a track at break neck speeds to discover the result; VW versus Mercedes vans.

Commercial Sense

I make no apologies for my blog utilising the wonderful library that is the You Tube.  After all, how else would I bring you some of the best van adverts ever made?  I can hardly be expected to contact Ford, Renault, Volkswagen etc etc directly can I?  Ok, perhaps You Tube is a lazy-man’s tool, but it works!

Anyway…… This week Vansdirect landed some great deals on the Volkswagen Caddy, Transporter and the VW Crafter.  I’m not going to discuss their qualities or why you should buy one on this site.  If you want those kind of details visit www.vansdirect.co.uk.  However, I am going to show you a Volkswagen commercial that transcends time and language - the van barely features, but the message is clear.

Respect the Van

I was trawling the Vansdirect archives today - or should I say You Tube - and I came across this little gem of a van commercial.

Let’s face it, no matter you cut it, slice it or dice it, panel vans are rather dull.  Yes, the engineering that goes into a commercial vehicle is incredible (click here to see why), but at the end of the day, most of us will think of a van merely a functional beast designed to get you and your cargo from A to B and hopefully back again in an economical manner.
