Match Preview: Blues -v- Bluebirds

Cardiff travel to Coventry

Cardiff travel to Coventry

Cardiff City, the Championship club sponsored by Vansdirect, travel to Coventry tonight with Cardiff looking to capitalise on their 2 games in hand over other their fellow promotion hopefuls.  In contrast, Coventry sit in 14th place and must surely only be looking for another point to keep them away from the drop zone.

Cardiff are likely to be without Jay Bothroyd who is a doubt after picking up a knock during an outstanding performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup.  Likewise, Peter Whittingham (hamstring) is also out so Chris Burke will continue in the midfield.

Coventry are likely to give a bench position to new on-loan Chelsea starlet Lee Sawyer.  However, Aron Gunnarsson (hip) and Elliott Ward (knee) appear doubtful.

We beat them at Ninian Park so a win should be on the cards.  The staff at Vansdirect reckon 2-0 to Cardiff is likely.  I however reserve a degree of pessimism and predict a 2-1 win for the Vansdirect Bluebirds.  After all, Coventry only have a -1 goal difference at 14th in the table.  The teams around them have conceded far more / or scored far less.

All at Vansdirect wish Dave Jones and the team luck.
