Ford Improves Van Range 20th August, 2010

Ford has introduced several upgrades to the Transit Van and the Transit Minibus models in a bid to further improve its vans range.

The Ford Transit Van upgrade means that all van models with rear-wheel-drive from 100ps to 200ps will come with a six speed gearbox as standard from September. This change will also mean an improved miles per gallon and lower CO2 performance. The Transit Sport van has also had a slight upgrade and will come with a DAB radio as standard, making it the first medium sized van to boast this inclusion. DAB radios can be added to the Limited Transit Van model at a cost of £200.

Cummins who are best known for producing large capacity diesels, has responded to the concerns of van makers by producing and launching a range of light turbochargers designed for 2 – 5 litre van engines.

Having researched this topic it seems that there is no easy way to determine where this money goes, but we can confirm that road tax, fuel duty, income tax and corporation tax end up at the Exchequer.  Where as council parking fees and congestion charges along with council tax and central government subsidies end up at the local authority.

Vansdirect get the Meerkat Treatment 28th May, 2010

Voila - A Van!

We would like to take this opportunity to sympathise with Alexander Meerkat, as we at Vansdirect do occasionally get mistaken for the supplier of a branded footwear.

We would like to take this opportunity, as has Mr Meerkat on a number of occasions, to point out the difference.

Vansdirect Limited sell new vans, and cheap vans at that!

We do not sell trainers, daps or footwear!

Why would you want to buy trainers to run around the place, when a new van can get you there quicker!
